Meet Lori Lloyd
I Love the Practice of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine!

I started my journey into the health and wellness field in 1995 when I lived in New York. For years I suffered from health problems and was dependent on prescription medications. I eventually found myself looking for alternatives. I wanted to fix the root cause of my illness, not just mask the symptoms, and end my potential life-long reliance on medication.

I first began by studying nutrition, which was eye-opening for me since I was the queen of junk food. I also began practicing yoga, fell in love with it, and earned my yoga teaching certificate. After I moved to Colorado in 1997, I completed a two-year program in Western herbal medicine. By the time I finished the program, I was hooked on a better approach to wellness and wanted more.

One of my mentors recommended that I attend a Chinese Medical School, which I did with the intent of studying Chinese herbal medicine. After experiencing the profound effects of acupuncture, I knew that this was the medicine for me. The combination of acupuncture and herbs is an amazing, holistic approach to solving health issues and keeping the body and mind healthy. I love the concept of balance, which is the mainstream of Chinese medicine.  I also enjoy working with my patient’s nutritional needs through supplementation, diet and creating a healthier lifestyle.

Since graduating, I have been continually studying and taking courses to increase my skill set in order for me to help my patients in the best way. I completed a six-month Sports Medicine Apprenticeship program which gave me knowledge and experience to quickly diagnose and treat pain and injuries. I also took courses in cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation, as well as training and certification in NAET, which is an allergy elimination treatment. This is an area of particular interest to me because of my struggle with allergies. My work in NAET has produced amazing results for me and my patients.

My most recent endeavour has been certification in NET - Neuro Emotional Technique. This has been an exciting modality for me. NET is a stress-reduction technique used to release "stuck" emotional patterns which cause illness or result in self-sabotaging behaviors.

I absolutely love what I do, and thoroughly enjoy helping my patients regain their health and enjoy a full life! I look forward to working with you too.
